Insurance Defense Attorney

Insurance Defense Attorney - Fully Remote California

A respected Sacramento law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join its litigation team in a remote setting. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a broad range of insurance defense matters and be comfortable managing cases independently through all phases of litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership and good standing with the California Bar
• 3+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and court rules
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases with attention to detail and deadlines
• Trial or arbitration experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Defend clients in insurance defense matters, including personal injury, premises liability, and professional liability cases
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, law and motion practice, and trial preparation
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and procedural motions
• Conduct and defend depositions, including expert and fact witnesses
• Attend mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials
• Provide legal analysis and case strategy to clients and insurance carriers
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular updates on case progress
